Further information from the Area Highways Manager was received via Cllr East last Thursday afternoon, 3rd July, saying,
Apologies for the disruption that this one unexpected event is causing. These always seem to happen when there are other works in the area that are already affecting access. At this point in time the plan is to patch the damaged road at the weekend, possibly going into Monday but we will attempt to get it all done before Monday. I have checked and this is still programmed in with the contractor. I hope there are signs up in the area confirming this. LCC only has one other piece of work in the area, some general pothole filling works between Burton Pedwardine and the A17. These will be finished tonight. Quickline are working on Great Hale Fen up to the A17 and these works will be completed tomorrow we are told. With the Burton Pedwardine road being open later on we will at least see one more available route open to all traffic from tonight. I have not asked Quickline to change their plans because it is probably harder to get them to leave site when they are so near the end of their programmed works, and then even harder to get them back again to complete them should we do that. Again my apologies for the issues being caused, I hope we will be back to normality from Monday.
Regards, Rowan
