Overnight Road Closures are being planned for 28th April to 19th May for the A17 between Holdingham Roundabout and Bicker Bar (A52) Roundabout, in both directions - watch out for further details

Cllr Andrew Key has passed on the following message from LCC Highways:

'We are notifying you of a proposed road closure along the A17, between Holdingham Roundabout and A52, Bicker Bar Roundabout due commence on the 28th April - 19th May, between 20.00 - 06.00 hrs. The works are to reinstate the deteriorating road markings, and road studs for the full length identified, to improve the safety for the road users.  Due to the nature of the works, it is not possible to undertake the works safely without the restrictions in place. The diversion route in place will be A15, A52 & vice versa.  We recognise that closing the A17 is disruptive and have aimed to time this works during the least inconvenient period possible for the road users.

To maximise the opportunity of the road closure we are also undertaking gully cleansing, verge maintenance and pothole works due to the reduced traffic volumes. Local residents within the road closure will still be allowed access, however depending on where the crew are working, residents may be asked to travel via the diversion route. We will be notifying affected frontage residents w/c 15th April of the works and access/egress arrangements.

Due to the local elections on the 2nd May works will commence from 22.00 - 06.00 on this date.

Advanced notification boards are due to be erected by the end of this week, and we will be advertising the works on the LCC website & social media to ensure we can maximise the communication.'
