Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the above Committee is to be held at Little Hale Chapel, Chapel Lane,  Little Hale on Monday 20th April 2026 at 7.30pm

         AGENDA

  1. Welcome and apologies and to note this being the first meeting convened under the Terms of Reference approved by the Great Hale Parish Council and Little Hale Parish Council at their March meetings, with Little Hale Parish Council being the Lead Authority for the Joint Burial Committee.
  2. Election of Chairman and Vice-Chairman

Part A Matters from 2025-26

  1. To agree minutes of the meeting held on 10th November 2025
  2. To agree minutes of the meeting held on 13th January 2026
  3. To note transactions since November, end of year balances
  4. To note the Annual Report and Accounts for year ending 31st March 2026
  5. To approve payments already committed
  • Mrs A Bourne – Audit fees
  • Clerk’s Salary and expenses to 30th April, including bonus agreed January 2026
  • Little Hale Chapel – charges for room hire January and April
  • Sleaford Town Council – Grass Cutting Contract 2026

Part B Matters for 2026-27

  1. Transactions since 1st April 2026
  2. Update on banking arrangements
  • New Cemetery account (Community Instant Access Account, interest-bearing) with Lloyds linked to Little Hale Parish Council accounts
  • Update on Short Term balance, £8445.72, held in NS&I Bond – monthly income to be passed to new Cemetery account
  • Update on Short Term balance, £10,000 held in CC Bank – annual income to be passed to new Cemetery Account
  • Update on Long Term balance, £4305.77, being the Benjamin Ward Legacy, held in CC Bank, capital to be retained by the Great Hale and Little Hale Joint Burial Board Benjamin Ward Trust (Registered Charity Number 501760) and interest donated annually to the Cemetery account.
  1. Update on Insurance
  2. Update on legals to register the Parish Councils’ ownership of the Cemetery with the Land Registry.
  3. Update on VAT liabilities
  4. Update on NNDR – eligibility for Small Business Rates Relief
  5. Matters to recommend to the Parish Councils for approval
  • Clerk’s salary from 1st May 2026
  • Cemetery Charges to take effect from 1st January 2027
  1. Practical Cemetery Work – benches, rabbits, work party plans & reports.
  2. Any other business.
